Position Description:
PKF (UK) LLP is a member firm of the PKF International Limited network of legally independent firms with around 15,000 people working out of 400 offices in 120 countries, and an overall turnover of approximately US$2 billion.
We provide a wide range of management consultancy and professional services from strategy formulation through programme and project management, and specialist advisory and development services in disciplines such as finance and ICT, to support on implementation and delivery.
As part of PKF’s successful Management Consultancy division, our International Projects Group focuses almost exclusively on assignments in developing nations and emerging markets, working principally for bi- and multi-lateral agencies.
Our projects cover such areas as governance and public financial management, audit and accounting, private sector and financial services development.
Aim of the Programme:
• PKF (UK) LLP is bidding for a project funded by the Danish Embassy in Tanzania to set up a basket fund to support legal aid and paralegal service provision in Tanzania.
• The Facility will channel funding on an equal opportunities basis to legal aid and paralegal service providers on Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar, to assist individuals to claim their rights, redress grievances, and protect fundamental human rights of the individual.
• The Service Provider will set up a fund management and grant administration structure to support legal aid and paralegal service provision.
• The fund will contribute to the overall objective by providing fairly and efficiently determined grants to promote the objectives and strategies of legal aid and paralegal organizations.
• The Programme is expected to run for duration of three years between 1 June 2011 – 30 May 2014, with a possibility of extension for additional two years
General Qualifications:
• A relevant educational background in e.g. financial management or accounting
• Registered with a relevant professional body
• Relevant professional experience
• Fluent in English and Swahili
Specific Qualifications:
• Experience in managing and administrating donor supported grant schemes and programmes (financial management, accounting, contracting, and procurement)
• Experience in capacity building in the fields of administration, accounting, and financial management is an advantage
• Experience from working with civil society institutions is an advantage
